About
Built by two quants who got tired of black boxes
OpenAlpha is a transparent quantitative research platform. We believe every trader — individual or institutional — deserves to see the math, the parameters, and the backtests behind any signal, not just be told 'buy' or 'sell'.
Founders
Li brings deep expertise in data analytics and platform engineering. He runs Litan Analytics and built the entire OpenAlpha stack — from the backtesting engine to the live signal pipeline. He cares about turning rigorous research into tools that real people can actually use.
Yuko is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) with a finance background spanning corporate analysis and quantitative trading research. He drives the strategy selection, parameter calibration, and risk framework that shape what actually makes it onto the platform.
Why 'OpenAlpha'
In quantitative trading, “alpha” means returns above the benchmark market — the holy grail every strategy chases. But most services that claim to deliver alpha are black boxes: they won't tell you what the model is, how parameters are chosen, how it actually performed over the past three years, or when it tends to fail.
We call ourselves OpenAlpha because we do the opposite: every strategy's math, every parameter's meaning, every backtest's real results (including the losing periods), and how market regime affects each strategy — all open.
We're also open-sourcing parts of the strategy code on GitHub. Our value isn't in secret algorithms (they all come from published academic papers) — it's in turning that research into a platform you can actually use: real-time multi-market scanning, parameter optimization, visualization, alerts.
Our Principles
No false certainty
Every strategy has periods where it fails. We show those honestly.
No hidden methods
Math, parameters, and backtest code are all visible.
No advice given
We provide research tools, not investment advice.
